Based in Hawthorne, CA, the Accountant, International position plays a pivotal role supporting Starlink’s expanding global footprint, particularly covering African countries.

Role Overview: Accountant, International at SpaceX (Hawthorne, CA)

Starlink, SpaceX’s groundbreaking satellite internet system, already connects over 7 million users worldwide. The Accountant, International is responsible for accurate and timely financial reporting across Starlink subsidiaries in Africa. This critical role supports tax compliance, statutory filings, and currency conversions, enabling Starlink’s continued global growth.

SpaceX Careers: Accountant, International Core Responsibilities

  • Participate in the monthly accounting close process ensuring accuracy and timeliness for Starlink’s subsidiaries.
  • Prepare journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, reserves, intercompany transactions, and manage foreign currency conversions.
  • Collaborate with local service providers on statutory filings and bridge local accounts to U.S. GAAP.
  • Support international tax compliance efforts, including VAT/GST, and maintain proper documentation for tax credits/refunds.
  • Drive process improvements and reporting standardization.
  • Prepare audit schedules and interface with external auditors.
  • Contribute to special projects within the accounting team.

SpaceX Careers: Accountant, International Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related business discipline.
  • Minimum 1+ years of accounting experience.
  • Preferred CPA certification or equivalent.
  • Experience with US GAAP, IFRS, international accounting standards, and multi-currency accounting environments.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (MS Dynamics 365), Excel, and preferably SQL.
  • Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to work onsite in Hawthorne, CA, including occasional extended hours.

SpaceX Careers: Accountant, International Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary range: $80,000 to $115,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications.
